Easy Breezy Packing 101

July 10, 2015

Sandy toes, sunburns, and salty hair....where we soaked up our summer vacation that was not nearly long enough. This was the first time traveling with baby and I have to say she surprised us with how well she did on the flight. We had a blast and plan on returning to the beach every year to get our annual fix. Here are some packing tips to remember on your next vaca:

1. Always take more than you think you need clothes wise. Trust me on this one.

2. Roll your clothes, don't fold....you will fit so much more crap in your suitcase.

3. Remember to bring layers, even if you are going somewhere tropical, you never know what the weather has in store for you.

4. Always create a packing list, this makes things easier to not forget...although you might still forget something so hopefully you are close to a Walmart.

5. Instead of counting your personal item as your small purse, take advantage and use a large tote to fill for added packing room.

6. Always bring a clean garbage bag, this has a lot of advantages from packing home dirty/wet clothes, covering your luggage in a down pour, or even as poncho....I have used the poncho garbage bag more than once!

7. Buy the small 3 oz empty containers to fill with liquids that you might need instead of buying duplicates of your products in travel sizes.

8. Bring the jeans, leave the heels. Lets be honest heels/boots take up so much room be conservative with what you bring shoe wise. Go for ballet flats, flip flops, or sandals.

9. This will contradict what #1 says but if you are an over packer like myself take out 3 pieces of clothing before you zip up the luggage. Resist the urge to add extras at the last minute.

10. Always, always, always bring the long lens if you own a DSLR camera, we decided against bringing ours, we went with just bringing the short lens and regretted it from day one of the trip. Remember always to take lots of photos, get plenty of scenery but more pics with people in them.

Happy packing!! And enjoy some of the snapshots of my trip!
