Back to the subject at hand. Valentine wreaths and/or decor. They are everywhere, and sometimes it seems the only qualifications are that it contain red or pink and some type of heart. Simple is best in our book whether we are talking clothing, home decor, or the holidays. So if you are looking for a fun and unique project and prefer more of an understated simple look that can be left hanging all month long give our NUTS ABOUT YOU wreath a try. It is easier than it looks once you get started. Good luck!
I apologize for not having more pictures to go along with this DIY but it is quite simple so hopefully you can figure it out from this picture and the supplies used and description below.
*There are probably several ways you could do this project so fine tune it as you'd like to fit your needs and use what you have on hand.
- Cardboard piece cut into the shape of a heart. (I used the side of a cardboard box.)
- Walnut shells- cracked and hollowed out. This is a bit time consuming. Use the whole nut if you prefer.
- Red paint
- Glue -I used a hot glue gun
- Ribbon
- Find a large piece of cardboard and cut it into the shape and size of heart you would like.
- Hollow out your walnuts and pain them with craft paint in your desired shade. You can also put the walnuts down plain and then spray paint the entire heart when you are done glueing.
- Glue the walnuts in a pattern around your heart. These were placed back to back and then another layer was placed on top.
- Hang with ribbon or twine.
